Frontal shot
Awesome robot mode!

From Car Robots or RID Series, Side Burn is one of the 3 car brothers. Super Side Burn is the power up version of Side Burn. Transformation for this series is tougher than ever. In fact, my passion for Transformers ignited after watching the Car Robots series. Fully plastic and beware of chip paints.

Note:
* From Car Robots 2000, RID Series
* Made in China
* Repaint of original blue color
* No reissue / KO
* Beware of chip paints
* Tricky transformations that might lead to some breaks

Takara Kiss Cassette E-Hobby Exclusives

The 3 hot cassettes

Well, you might think this is just another repaint, then you might be wrong. I read about the descriptions about this 3 pretty cassettes and its quite interesting and long as well. Seeing the name Rosanna, Glit and Sundor gives you the idea this are female robots indeed. The color scheme here is a bit soft and bright and the chrome is excellent. Well maybe I'm just a big fan of chrome. Its E-Hobby, you are made to pay for it!

Descriptions:

Rosanna is a repaint using the Eject/Rewind/Flip Sides mold. She is cited as being a singer and dancer actively recruited by Blaster. Her special abilities are intended to compliment the musical disposition of Blaster and serve as a morale-booster to keep the other Autobots going.

Glit is a repaint using the Ravage/Howlback mold. He is cited as a Decepticon doctor, his hip-mounted components serving as medical gear rather than weaponry. Frequently treating his patients in the field, Glit will reportedly pause to tend to Autobots as well as Decepticons.

Sundor is a repaint using the Laserbeak/Buzzsaw/Garboil mold. Sundor is endowed with solar-based powers. He is a Decepticon converted to an Autobot, citing a Spacebridge mishap as the reason behind his conversion; although in truth Sundor is apparently still a Decepticon doubling as a spy within the ranks of Blaster’s cassette entourage.

Note:
* Comes with CD!
* Repaint with chrome
* E-Hobby Exclusive
* No Reissue/KO

G1 Takara C-311 Headmaster Grand Maximus

Grand Max with Pretender & Cog
Back View
Side profile
Upper Half Front
Upper Half Back with yellowing... sigh

Pretender and Cog

After 6 years, I finally got Grand Maximus after I had Brave and Fortress Maximus. I might not have the complete set but with the main guy, I'm more than satisfy. The watermark Qusol is the seller who sold this monster to me. I missed 2 opportunities to own it, so I just grab this at 3rd time. Grand Max released in Japan only in 1987, Made in Macau under Takara. The back part got some yellowing and I will update with more pictures if I'm free to transform it to base mode, which I don't really think so for now. Originally from the Masterforce series, Grand Max stands hand to hand with God Ginrai to go against the infamous Black Scorponok. Basically, it has the same mold as Fotress Maximus but with the Pretender shell extra and of course the different color schemes. The combinations color red and blue is nicer than Brave and Fort Max. I would say among the 3, Grand Max looks the best.

Below is the reference from the original box, I don't owned it though, sigh.... Notes:
* 1 of the 3 largest Transformers Base
* Never released in US due to the size of the toy which violates the US regulations
* From the Masterforce Series, 1987 Made in Macau
* NO KO Version of the toy but parts like the guns and the sword are reissued KO
* Grand Max and parts are getting VERY RARE and extremely expensive to get

G1 Targetmaster Slugslinger with Caliburst

Targetmaster Caliburst
Plane mode with targetmaster

Robot mode with Caliburst

Slugslinger, like Misfire is one of the few Decepticon targetmasters. It is as hard to get like Misfire and other Decepticon targetmasters. Caliburst is never easy to get. With a gun tip that tends to be missing, getting a complete Caliburst with gun tip is tough. You can see the the grey dun tip on Caliburst, weapon mode. For Slugslinger, the body tends to get yellowing. Like it or not, I had a few with the same problem.

Notes:
* Caliburst's gun tip is always missing and hard to get
* Slugslinger body tends to get yellowing easily
* No KO / Reissue know yet

G1 Takara D-335 Leokaiser / Liokaiser

The small fellas...
Jaruga, the buggy and Leozack, the jet plane

Drillhorn, the drill vehicle and Hellbat, another jet plane
Gaihawk, the jet plane and Killbison, the tank
Robot modes
Robot modes
Combiner mode

In the Japanese Victory series, there is one very interesting combiner from Decepticon. He is no other than LeoKaiser. Not to mention it is formed with 6 robots, Leozack, Gaihawk, Killbison, Hellbat, Jaruga and Drillhorn. All of them a small animal attached to their chest and they can use it as weapon or use them to attack their enemies. I only have 3 of them out of 6. Unlike other combiner, the only accessory Leokaiser need is the head. The weapon is the gun turret from Killbison. The transformation to Leokaiser is not difficult and yet they look great. One thing I noticed, never carry around Leokaiser without holding the legs. I dropped Drillhorn once and broke the peg. It took me a while to get the part replaced by getting a brand new one on eBay.

Below is a reference from the original box, I don't owned it.

Notes:
* The 6 little fellas are hard to get not to mention other accessories
* Released in Japan by Takara
* KO version was released years back
* Be careful when carrying around, remember to hold their legs, peg might not be so tight
* Leokaiser is becoming rare and very hard to get
* There are two mini guns for Gaihawk

G1 Clones Pounce & Wingspan

Robot mode looks identical, guns are different though
Wingspan's eagle mode & Pounce's panther mode?

Only 2 sets of clones existed in G1. 1 set each from Autobot and Decepticon. Compare to the Autobots, Pounce and Wingspan are a bit hard to get. Few things I noticed about the Decepticon clones. Chest are partial diecast. Wingspan's wings tend to get lost and the guns are different than the other clone. Its a decent piece.

Notes:
* Chest partial die cast
* Released by Hasbro and Takara
* Harder to get than the Autobot clones
* Accessories might be an issue
* No KO/Reissue yet

G1 Takara C-371 Grandus

Robot mode

From the back...

Base mode....

Originally from Zone series named C-371 Grandus. Got this loose there is quite a few missing parts. From what I noticed, a micromaster is missing as well as a few accessories. Below is a reference from the original box, I don't owned it.

Above 2 pictures are used for references only, I don't owned them.

Basically Grandus is a base for micromasters in Zone series and I don't know much about him either as I never had the chance to watch that series.

Notes:

* There is a DIACLONE version of this, same mold.
* ONLY Released in Japan by Takara
* No Original Reissue or KO up to date
* Accessories and parts for this are next to impossible to get
* Grandus is considered a quite RARE item

G1 Targetmaster Misfire with Aimless

Plane mode with Targetmaster

Targetmaster Aimless
Robot mode

Misfire is one of the few targetmasters around. Misfire is also a rare targetmaster like the rest of the Decepticon's targetmasters from G1 Headmaster series. Aimless tend to break the hip connector easily. Mine is broken as well as many cases I heard from other collectors.

Note:
* Aimless hip joint easily broken
* No reissue or KO at the moment
